Switched from aluminum oxide to these ceramic belts and the difference on hardened steel is night and day. They cut fast without burning the metal, and the 60-grit finish is surprisingly smooth.

Finally got these for my 1x30 sander and the ceramic grain really does chew through steel faster than the aluminum oxide belts I was using. The 60 grit leaves a surprisingly smooth finish right off the belt, and after a dozen uses on some mild steel they still have plenty of life left.
