Our 1x30 industrial grade silicon carbide belts are the perfect choice for fine finishing with lighter pressure. Silicon carbide is extremely sharp and friable, making it ideal for heat sensitive applications but not as long lasting as other abrasive materials. Its unique characteristics make silicon carbide a great choice for paint removal, sanding between coats, knife scale finishing, lapidary, or any application requiring consistent scratch patterns. Wet or dry applications. Hand built in the USA.

Used these on a knife handle that kept getting too hot with regular belts—silicon carbide definitely runs cooler. They cut fast but leave a smooth finish, and the twelve belts will last me a good while.

These 1x30 belts cut through hardened steel scale on my bench grinder much faster than the aluminum oxide ones I had been using. The silicon carbide grit stays sharp and doesn't load up as quickly with heat-sensitive materials. I've already ordered a second pack for my woodturning tools.
