Our 1x42 industrial grade silicon carbide belts are the perfect choice for fine finishing with lighter pressure. Silicon carbide is extremely sharp and friable, making it ideal for heat sensitive applications but not as long lasting as other abrasive materials. Its unique characteristics make silicon carbide a great choice for paint removal, sanding between coats, knife scale finishing, lapidary, or any application requiring consistent scratch patterns. Wet or dry applications. Hand built in the USA.

These cut way cleaner than the aluminum oxide belts I used before, and the finish on my knife blades is noticeably smoother. Running them at lighter pressure keeps the steel from heating up, which was my main problem with cheaper belts.
