Our closed coat aluminum oxide sanding belts are designed specifically for use on metal. This industrial grade material features a load and heat reducing top coat, making it excellent for knife making and other metalworking applications. Heavy duty X-weight backing can handle spritzing but is not fully waterproof. Hand built in the USA.

The aluminum oxide cuts through mild steel cleanly and the 4x27 size fits my belt sander without any wobble. Only gripe is the joints are a little bumpy on the first pass, but they smooth out after a minute of use.
