Our closed coat aluminum oxide sanding belts are designed specifically for use on metal. This industrial grade material features a load and heat reducing top coat, making it excellent for knife making and other metalworking applications. Heavy duty X-weight backing can handle spritzing but is not fully waterproof. Hand built in the USA.

The closed coat really does keep the heat down—I ran a full set of steel brackets without the belt glazing over or loading up. Two belts in the pack and both are still cutting true after a decent session.
