These belts cut surprisingly cool on my metal stock, the silicon carbide grit really does stay sharp longer than the aluminum oxide ones I used before. I've been using the 120 grit for blending welds and it leaves a much smoother surface with almost no heat buildup.

These belts cut through steel surprisingly fast while staying cool, the friable silicon carbide grain really does make a difference on heat-sensitive pieces. I've been using the same one for a week of light finishing work and it's still holding its edge.

The friable silicon carbide really does cut cooler than the aluminum oxide belts I used before, which matters on thin stock. Only quibble is that they seem to dull a bit faster during heavy use.
